Refreshing the Sporty 2023 Altima Sedan

For 2023, the iconic Nissan Altima sedan received a styling refresh and technology upgrade. This popular family sedan has the same powertrain as the previous model year, but the automaker redesigned the front fascia and V-Motion grille for an aggressively stylish front end. Nissan made other changes to the 2023 Altima, including standard LED headlights and daytime running lights with integrated turn signals. Altima enthusiasts will notice new wheel designs on most trim levels.

Two Drivetrain Choices

The 2023 Nissan Altima performance features include the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. This engine is standard on all models except the SR trim, which has the VC Turbo engine - a 2.0-liter Variable Compression turbo four-cylinder. This engine delivers 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Altima puts front-wheel drive in all trims, except the Altima SR, which is only available with all-wheel drive. The Altima SL and SR trims have available all-wheel drive.

The standard engine gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 28/39 MPG. The Altima SR with the VC Turbo engine has an EPA-estimated rating of 25/34 MPG. All trims have the Xtronic Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission.

Infotainment and Safety Technology

All Nissan Altima models come with Safety Shield 360 and its exceptional collection of driver-assistive features. Nissan Altima safety features include Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Driver Alertness, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and High Beam Assist.

The top SL and SR VC-Turbo trims have Nissan’s semi-autonomous driving technology called ProPilot Assist. This system uses a forward-facing camera, radar system, and sensors to keep the Altima within the driver’s chosen lane. ProPilot Assist relies on Stop-and-Go Dynamic Cruise Control to maintain a safe distance behind the preceding vehicle.

The automaker upgraded the 2023 Nissan Altima interior styling in the five-passenger family sedan. Depending on the trim, the Altima has dual-stitched interior fabric, available leather-appointed seating, and NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seat designs.

The infotainment system features a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, Nissan Door-to-Door Navigation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Some trims have an available Bose Premium Audio System, NissanConnect Services, and Amazon Alexa capability.
