2022 Nissan Leaf

The 2022 Nissan Leaf is available in two versions, Leaf and Leaf Plus. The Leaf is available in three trim levels: S, SV, and SL. The S rolls down the road on 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers on the Leaf and 16-inch alloy wheels on the Leaf Plus, while both versions have automatic headlights and a rear spoiler. The SV ups the wheels to 17-inch alloy and adds fog lights and heated outside mirrors. The SL adds LED headlights with LED signature daytime running lights

The Leaf and Leaf Plus differ in power output and battery capacity. The Leaf comes with a 40-kWh battery that will get you approximately 149 miles of range. This battery pack produces 147 horsepower. Nissan upgrades the battery in the Leaf Plus to a 62-kWh that provides you with 226 miles of range on the base trim and 215 miles in the higher trim levels. This more powerful battery also ups the horsepower to 214, providing you with more get-up-and-go. There's no conventional transmission, rather a single-speed reduction gear, freeing up space typically devoted to the mechanical elements.

Nissan understands that performance-enhancing features are important to drivers today and has added several to the 2022 Leaf. Each Leaf has two available driving modes, Eco and B-mode, to customize the driving experience. You also get a four-wheel anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist to help you stop on a dime. Each Leaf comes with a front-wheel-drive system, providing you with a smooth ride every time. The vehicle's speed-sensitive electric power steering system keeps you in control at all times.

When you slide behind the wheel of the Leaf or Leaf Plus, you'll notice a plethora of comfort and technology features. The S has automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, four USB ports, keyless entry and push-button start, and remote cabin preheating and precooling. You also get an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SV adds a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, navigation system, heated front seats, and a six-speaker audio system. NissanConnect Services also starts at the SV trim, providing you with a vehicle locator, remote battery status, and charge control. The SL further upgrades your Leaf with a seven-speaker Bose audio system and leather upholstery.

Nissan understands how important safety is to drivers everywhere and has plenty of safety and driver-assistance features to that end. You get automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot intervention, all standard on each Leaf. The SV comes with adaptive cruise control, and the SV Technology package adds ProPilot Assist, driver attention warning, and a surround-view camera system. This package is optional on the Leaf SV but standard on the Leaf SV Plus.
