2021 Nissan Rogue Sport
The Nissan Rogue Sport is smaller than the midsize Rogue, but it's larger than other small SUVs in its market segment that it competes with. For 2021, the Rogue Sport has just a few changes. The entry-level S now comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, and the SV gains heated front seats and remote start, along with a heated steering wheel and fog lights. Here's a closer look at the details for the 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport.
Trim Levels
The Rogue Sport S is the base trim. It has 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlights. Stepping up to the SV adds roof rails, fog lights, and heated side door mirrors. At the top of the lineup, the Sport SL comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and offers the optional Premium package with a sunroof and LED headlights.
Engine
Every Rogue Sport comes with the same powertrain. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine puts out 141 horsepower and works with Nissan's continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard with every trim, but you can opt for all-wheel drive with any model.
Performance
The Rogue Sport is small enough that it's easy to navigate and maneuver in city traffic, and it will easily fit in a garage. It has strong brakes, a suspension that smooths out bumpy roads, and stays composed when you take tight corners. You can expect this small SUV to get up to 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg when you drive on the highway if you opt for the front-wheel drive, and these numbers drop just slightly if you opt for the all-wheel drive.
Interior
There's room for five in the Rogue Sport, and in the back of the base trim, you'll find a 23 cubic foot cargo space behind the rear seats, which opens up to over 53 cubic feet if you fold the rear seats down. The other two trims have slightly smaller cargo areas. Cloth upholstery comes standard in the S, which also has power windows. The SV comes with dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat, push-button start, and it adds heated front seats. The SL adds memory settings for the driver's seat and offers an optional power-adjustable passenger seat.
The technology in the 2021 Rogue Sport starts with a 7-inch touch screen, the NissanConnect infotainment system, a USB port, and it has both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SV adds a six-speaker stereo, and the SL adds a navigation system. If you add the Premium package to the SL, it comes with an upgraded eight-speaker Bose stereo system.
Safety Features
Every Rogue Sport comes with advanced safety features, including a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning with mitigation, rear automatic braking, forward collision warning with automatic braking and pedestrian detection, and rear parking sensors. The Technology package for the SV adds a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera system with a top-down view around the vehicle. If you bump up to the SL, it makes the safety features from the Technology package standard.
